What is Skillshare?

Skillshare is an online learning community with thousands of classes for creative and curious people, on topics including illustration, design, photography, video, freelancing, and more. On Skillshare, members come together to find inspiration and take the next step in their creative journey. Head to Skillshare to learn more.

Who can access Skillshare?

Skillshare is available to Penticton Public Library resident cardholders on a first come, first serve basis. We currently have 24 spaces available to our patrons.

How long can I borrow Skillshare for?

Skillshare is available as as a temporary three-week loan.

Can I renew my access?

Renewals will be granted if there are spaces available. As long as there are free spaces, you can continue to renew your Skillshare access using the library's skillshare registration form.

What if there are no free spaces?

You will be placed on a waiting list and we will let you know when your checkout becomes available.

How do I register for Skillshare?

Unlike other digital resources, you do not log in directly to Skillshare with your library card.

To gain access, patrons need to:

  • have an email address and the password for it
  • complere a quick registration form listed on our website here
  • wait for staff to approve their registration, then
  • receive an email from Skillshare with instructions on how to log in with their email address.

Can I buy my own subscription separate from the library?

Absolutely! Please be aware that we are unable to offer any discounts or custom pricing through the library, and will happily continue provide free access to patrons who do not wish to make any purchases as long as there is space.
