What is it?

The Tween Advisory Group (TAG) is a group of tweens aged 8-12 that meet once a month to share suggestions and ideas for events and programs for other tweens (and themselves)! Once an event idea is chosen, they will also help choose activities and materials for the program. Please note: this will be a pilot from September 2024 - June 2025 with the potential to continue the following school year.

Who can Join?

Any tween from age of 8-12 (sorry, no one under 8!) can fill out a form to join the TAG. There are 10 spots on the TAG, and we are looking for people with a lot of energy and excitement to bring to the group. We will have a wait list if there are more than 10 interested tweens.

When is it?

Meetings are once a month in-person on the first Tuesday from 3:30-4:15 pm.

How do I join?

Visit the Library in-person to pick up a form at the checkout desk.

What do I get?

Tweens will earn 1 hour of volunteer time for each meeting they come to. After 4 meetings, they can ask for a volunteer letter from staff.

F.A.Q.s

“I’m 7 and a half, can I join?”

No, sorry! You must be at least 8 years old to join the TAG.

"Why should I join the TAG?"

To meet new people, have a say in what events and programs we host for your age at the Library, and to learn about being a volunteer.

“Do I need my parent’s permission to join the TAG?”

There is a space for a parent to sign on the form. If you need a different adult to sign the form, just check with Lara at the Library!
